This table provides metadata for the actual indicator available from Montenegro statistics closest to the corresponding global SDG indicator. Please note that even when the global SDG indicator is fully available from Montenegrin statistics, this table should be consulted for information on national methodology and other Montenegrin-specific metadata information.

Goal

Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages

Target

By 2030, end the epidemics of AIDS, tuberculosis, malaria and neglected tropical diseases and combat hepatitis, water-borne diseases and other communicable diseases

Indicator

Number of new HIV infections per 1,000 uninfected population, by sex, age and key populations

Since when is the indicator monitored according to the described methodology 2010

This table provides information on metadata for SDG indicators as defined by the UN Statistical Commission. Complete global metadata is provided by the UN Statistics Division.

Indicator

Number of new HIV infections per 1,000 uninfected population, by sex, age and key populations

Methodology of indicator as monitored in UN

Number of new HIV infections per 1,000 uninfected population, by sex, age and key populations as defined as the number of new HIV infections per 1000 person-years among the uninfected population. The incidence rate is the number of new cases per population at risk in a given time period. Longitudinal data on individuals are the best source of data but are rarely available for large populations. Special diagnostic tests in surveys or from health facilities can be used to obtain data on HIV incidence. HIV incidence is thus modelled using the Spectrum software. HIV incidence can also be modelled using the Spectrum software.
